Poisonous Plants

Toxic Plants Found in Lincoln County

In response to concerns about poisonous plants in Lincoln County we've posted information on this webpage about a handful  of common and not so common plants that are toxic and pose a serious risk to humans and domestic animals if improperly handled or consumed. Some of these plants are naturally occurring (native) to Lincoln County. Some are nonnative and highly invasive (noxious) and should be reported to our Invasive Species Control Program.  The information below is meant to inform and is not meant take the place of a professional botanical assessment. There are many plants in Lincoln County, Oregon that could pose a serious risk if handled improperly or consumed and the list below is not to be considered a complete list of toxic plants in Lincoln County. If you believe you have been exposed to a toxic plant do not contact the Lincoln Soil and Water Conservation District, call 911 or contact a poison control (800.222.1222) center immediately.
