April 3rd, 2014 - Presentation on Salmon River Estuary Fish Populations Mr. Kim Jones, Research Program Leader from the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife will speak at the MidCoast Watersheds Council Monthly Meeting, April 3, 2013 @ 6:30 pm at the Newport, Lincoln PUD Community Room. Kim will share his findings on Chinook, Coho and Cut Throat in the Salmon River. He has been a fish ecologist for 31 years and program leader for aquatic inventories since 1989. He represents the Conservation and Recovery Section of ODFW’s Fish Division on interagency panels and work groups related to stream conditions and salmon populations. He is interested in recovery actions that will provide long term protection and restoration of Oregon’s aquatic ecosystems. The meeting is free to all public with light refreshments served. March 20th, 2014 - Lincoln County Master Gardeners (TM) Pruning lecture and workshop from 1:30 - 3:30 PM at the Oregon Coast Community College Newport, 400 SE College Way. Vern, with Buena Vista Arbor Care will be there to provide hands on opportunity to learn the proper way to prune various trees and shrubs and answer all your questions.
